UN appoints new Haiti mission chief as Anti-Gang Force prepares to deploy

United Nations officials have appointed German diplomat Daniela Kroslak to head its new Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) during Gang Suppression Force (GSF) tenure

As the UN-backed mission chief, Daniela Kroslak will oversee logistics, equipment and operational planning. Kroslak said she aims to work closely with Haitian stakeholders and partners to support efforts that bring greater stability and lasting solutions to the country’s security crisis.

Police report that anti-gang operations in early 2026 resulted in dozens of deaths and major seizures as violence persists in Haiti. Raids from January to March led to the capture of significant equipment from alleged gang members, including 46 rifles, 19 pistols, six drones, 10,659 rounds of ammunition and two armored vehicles.
