Friday Drop-In Pickleball @ Manzano Mesa.
Please at least be versed in the basic rules, if you are a beginner that has never played.
Meet at the champion court, by the bathrooms.
Even though it's drop in when you can, the earlier our members can get there, the better we have a chance of claiming more courts that are close to each other.
**A Different Format - Please Read:**
What does "drop-in" mean? When you RSVP to the event, you ain't gotta be there right at the start. Stop by whenever and leave when you're ready. I will be there for at least the minimum time posted. Do RSVP so I have an idea of how many to expect, and it's good for the meetup group to track participation.
**Play Format:**
I need yall's help to keep play fair and fluid for all members. If there are members waiting to be rotated in, the 2 players that just lost in the current game rotate out to wait in line. The first 2 players waiting in line then rotate in, and the players that just won the game stay on court but split up. Holler at me if you need clarification.
**What to Expect:**
Casual pickleball for all levels; total beginners welcome.
This venue is outdoors; if the weather turns, the event may be canceled. Please watch the event page and check your email for updates. We use public courts, and it’s not unusual to wait for court space to become available.
**What to Bring:**
* Paddle
* Balls
* Weather appropriate clothing
* Hydration
* Non-marking court shoes
**Important:** If for any reason you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP. Thanks!

Gung Fu Tea Experience 🍵
Join us for Tea, in the style of a Chinese gung fu tea gathering
Friday's at 5pm.
Gongfu tea or kung fu tea (Chinese: 工夫茶 or 功夫茶; both gōngfū chá), literally "making tea with skill", is a traditional Chinese tea preparation method sometimes called a "tea ceremony". It is probably based on the tea preparation approaches originating in Fujian and the Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong.

Line Dance class Level I
Come learn some of the most popular line dances! All levels welcome! Line dancing is one of the best ways to get you out moving on the floor.
Where would you use Line Dance? Why should you learn?
You've totally seen it before at weddings, high school dances and country bars! A certain song comes on and EVERYONE heads to the dance floor to groove out the same moves at the same time as everyone else and it's a total BLAST! You should learn line dance so you're not the only one sitting down while everyone else is out on the dance floor. Line dance is also a FANTASTIC way to practice your coordination and timing without a partner to worry about.

U Mound Loop/Copper Trailhead Loop
Last time we did this hike I somehow went tumbling down the side of the mountain and rolled over some cactus and you can imagine the rest. Time to get my revenge.
The actual climb to the U Mound summit is steeper, so it will be optional and those that want to go up can, and the rest can wait below.
This hike I would consider easy to moderate. It does have some beautiful views of the city.

Yjastros: Out of Many, One (Flamenco)
"The National Institute of Flamenco presents Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company in *Out of Many, One*. The performance showcases five original flamenco works, each representing a distinct process of individuals connecting to a whole:
Convergence, Momentum, Inheritance, Embodiment, Reconciliation. In *Elementos,* choreographed by Adrián Santana, earth, air, fire, and water converge as interdependent elements. In Sara Cano’s *Camina,* momentum unifies energy into forward motion. Inheritance links the individual to culture and tradition in invited guest artist Ricardo Moro’s *Marianas*. Embodiment integrates memory, emotion, and identity in an untitled solo work by invited guest artist Adrián Santana (Málaga, Spain), and in Ana Morales' *Taranterias*, reconciliation bridges opposing forces. *Out of Many, One* celebrates unique voices, bodies, and perspectives, bringing them together into a single, resonant experience."
Come out and join me for this night of song, music and dance. Yjastros is magical! I'm in my favorite roomy seat in the balcony. \*\*DD120 (\*\*Senior tix is $27) Please note: I don't know the length of the performance time so I'm not sure if it will be over 2 hours.

USC RHYTHM CONNECTION
**MEETING MONTHLY EVERY SECOND Saturday, 3:00 - 4:30 pm, in the Sanctuary, USC ABQ, 9800 Candelaria Road NE, ABQ, 87112**
**Welcome to USC Rhythm Connection!**
We can't wait to drum with you!
Lesley Goddin and John Vandermey facilitate a monthly opportunity to connect through drumming and percussion. This circle is open to all people, whether you have drumming experience or not. And if you don't have your own drum, don't worry -- we have lots of drums and rhythm instruments to borrow during the circle.
Other instruments are welcome too. Bring your Native American style flutes, and favorite rhythm instruments with you and share your musical gift!
Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment that encourages people to connect with the community through the expression of rhythm. We want to be a safe place for you to explore rhythmic connection and percussive self expression in a gentle way. Being in community involves listening to what’s happening in the group and seeing where you can add to that. Making music together also involves making sure to leave space for others to join in as well.
Rhythm is not limited to drumming and percussion! If you are moved to dance, vocalize, play a flute (or another acoustical instrument), or just clap your hands, we encourage that. That adds to the connection possibilities.
Sometimes, when the group is in a steady groove, someone will “play up.” That is, they’ll play a little louder, with some flourishes and accents, for a few measures to add a little spice to the experience. This is expected and encouraged. Keep holding that rhythm while they do this, so they know where to come back to. Drumming can be good practice in listening to yourself and to each other and harmonizing what you are contributing with what others are putting into the circle. We’re about building those heart connections in the community.
**Fee**
This is a free event. Love Offering donations are accepted. If donating through the Church Center app, or the web site, please include a comment for USC Rhythm Connection so the office knows where to place the funds.
