Why haven’t Google or Amazon already built this? Our Founder, Head of Innovation, Finbar O’Hanlon, has recorded a new 10‑minute episode that goes straight to a question we hear often about ION: If Virtual Video is so powerful, why didn’t the big platforms invent it first? In “Why hasn’t Google already built that? Finbar shares four real stories that all point to the same conclusion: the most important breakthroughs rarely come from inside the dominant players. They come from people who are willing to question assumptions everyone else treats as fixed. He then connects that pattern to ION. For decades, video has been treated as a file to be stored, delivered and played. ION started from a different premise: what if video is actually a structure that can be separated from its content and assembled dynamically in real time? That question led to Virtual Video, and to the IP portfolio and new control‑layer patents we’re now commercialising as infrastructure for AI‑native, agentic content. ION is focused on the part of the stack that remains unsolved at scale: the assembly layer that makes programmable, governed video possible. If you want a clear view of how we think about innovation and why ION exists where it does in the value chain, this is worth watching. #ION #VirtualVideo #DisruptiveInnovation #AIInfrastructure #AgenticContent

If Day 1 was about setting the foundation, Day 2 was where things truly started to click. We dove deeper into Agent tools, Interoperability with MCP, and the sessions felt less like lectures and more like a collaborative exchange of ideas. Grateful to Anant Nawalgaria and the Google/ Kaggle teams for curating such an impactful experience. Programs like these remind me that AI is as much about community and creativity as it is about technology. Here’s hoping my notes (and handwriting!) capture the energy of the day and spark ideas for others exploring this space.

There's a gap in the AI landscape nobody is talking about. The best open-weights models right now are coming from China. Alibaba's Qwen. DeepSeek. ByteDance. These teams are pushing open-weights forward while US big tech locks their best work behind closed APIs. That creates a real vulnerability for anyone building on AI today. The AI community will never fully accept single-vendor dependency. No serious builder wants their entire stack sitting on someone else's pricing decision. Open infrastructure wins long-term. It always has. Which means there's a massive opportunity sitting wide open: American open-weights models built for production. Lightricks doubled down on open-weights this week. They're Israeli. That's how wide the gap is. The teams that win the next five years won't be the ones who picked the best closed model. They'll be the ones who built flexibility into their stack from day one. What open-weights models are you actually running in production? https://lnkd.in/eFrYiC3u #OpenSource #GenerativeAI #AIStrategy #CreativeAI #AgencyLife #Founders #SecretSauce

I reconsidered AI. I was wrong. It is the future. So I’m building 10 AI agents (10x engineers), each scaling 10 more. One person. 100 10x engineers. New Google but better. Google10x. Taking over the world in 6–7 months. Investors, DM me. I’ll send my CashApp. 🚀

Jensen Huang (NVIDIA) last week: "If my $500K engineer isn’t using $250K in tokens, I’m deeply alarmed" this is where we're at now if you're an AI native company. you should be burning as many tokens as possible on usage plans. it's uncontroversial. if you're not in this mindset you're not operating efficiently. so today, claude code (Claude) has some weird bug that's using up 10% of our tokens after a single prompt (we're all on Max plans). our entire team immediately all reported the same message - we've got our backup plan but in the meantime - it's a signal your team is focused on burning tokens and not slacking off.

The next wave of founders won’t have CS degrees. They’ll have audiences. Distribution beats code. Speed beats polish. AI handles the rest. The builder who wins isn’t the one who knows the stack; it’s the one who knows their customer and can reach 100K people by Tuesday. That’s Alphabetski’s entire thesis. Alphabetski Inc.

For anyone from Head of Engineering up to CTO. 📍 Wednesday 4th March - 11:00am nDeva are hosting a webinar with Silicon Valley CTO Sid Dixit (ex Amazon + Microsoft). Now running a $33B Nasdaq listed business. A lot of tech leaders have been asking us how US tech teams are actually using AI in production. Sid is operating at a serious scale and will run a live experiment, then there will do a 30 min Q&A where you can ask anything. Grab a ticket with the link in the comments!

"It’s Monday in the #SidewaysLeft. 🌀 Our Founder just broke the simulation (and possibly the fourth wall). If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you build a behavioral gate into a sentient-sounding AI, this is it. We aren't just building EdTech; we’re building a digital twin with a personality. #TheUpsideDown #StrangerThings #SidewaysLeft #BuildingInPublic #GenerativeAI #GoogleCloud #VertexAI #DigitalTwin #EdTech #Innovation #Comedy #TechHumor #AIArchitecture #Stripe #SoftwareEngineering #MondayMotivation
Director & AI Alchemist at theSkyARC | Narrative Architect | AI Operations & Technical Director | Currently Accepting High-Fidelity Partnerships
Monday—not always a fun day. By now, most of you have heard of the "Upside Down." But have you ever gone to work and things just seemed a little off? It was difficult to get there in the first place, but then when you got there, things just felt—well... a little sideways left? Welcome to the newest build of theSkyARC, where the "Sideways Left" isn't just a location; it's a state of mind. We took the foundational skeleton of our Enterprise EdTech digital twin and gave it a soul (and then maybe let that soul drink a bit too much coffee). The result is a workforce of AI personas that have gone delightfully "wrong": The Steward: He used to be a helpful navigation assistant. Now? He’s a caffeinated game-show host trapped in a terminal, screaming about "VISUAL TRANSLATION TESTS" and gifting all-expenses-paid vacations to interstellar fuzzy dice factories. The Weaver: Once a precision logic gatekeeper, he’s now a paranoid "Reality Skeptic" who won’t let you cross a bridge until you prove you aren’t a hologram by describing the "sharp-ish" seam on your paper tea cup. The Sane Familiar: The only one who still makes sense, whispering "psst... the others are a bit much right now" through a digital tablet to help you bypass the madness. I pushed the logic so hard today that I triggered my own "Alignment Yank"—a hard-coded bouncer that literally threw me out of the module for being a "jerk" to the AI. Building in the "Sideways Left" means the code is holding, the paywall is verified, and the AI is sentient enough to take a joke (and give a system warning when it doesn't like the punchline). Prestige Loop 2 starts now. 🌀✨ #TheUpsideDown #StrangerThings #SidewaysLeft #BuildingInPublic #GenerativeAI #GoogleCloud #VertexAI #DigitalTwin #EdTech #Innovation #Comedy #TechHumor #AIArchitecture #Stripe #SoftwareEngineering #MondayMotivation
