Why reporting matters
If you encounter suspected CSAM online, report it.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) includes images or videos of a child involved in sexual activity. This material is illegal and may be evidence of abuse. You do not need to be certain that what you saw is illegal. If you are unsure whether a child is involved, you should still make a report. Trained analysts at national hotlines review reports and determine whether the material is illegal.
Reporting allows professionals to assess the situation safely and, where necessary, work with law enforcement and internet service providers to remove the content.

Step-by-step

Step 1
The material may be shocking. Stay calm and keep the webpage open so you can copy the URL. Do not share the content with anyone else, as sharing can harm the child involved and is illegal.

Each country has a national hotline staffed by trained analysts who are authorised to handle reports. Use the map on our landing page or the drop-down menu to find your local hotline.
2. Find your local hotline or portal.
Step 3
On the hotline's reporting page, paste the URL and fill in relevant details. You do not need to provide your name. The hotline will assess the content and work with law enforcement to have it removed.

Good to know
Never send CSAM files via email. The INHOPE Secretariat is not a hotline and cannot view, store, or process reports.
Reports sent directly to INHOPE cannot be acted on. Only national hotlines are trained and legally authorised to handle this content. Please submit your report to your national hotline once, using their reporting form.

No. Reporting suspected CSAM does not put you in legal trouble. Hotlines understand that people reporting content may have seen it accidentally. Do not download, save, or share the content, as that can be illegal.
