Gung Fu Tea Experience šŸµ
Gung Fu Tea Experience šŸµ
Join us for Tea, in the style of a Chinese gung fu tea gathering Friday's at 5pm. Gongfu tea or kung fu tea (Chinese: 巄夫茶 or 功夫茶; both gōngfÅ« chĆ”), literally "making tea with skill", is a traditional Chinese tea preparation method sometimes called a "tea ceremony". It is probably based on the tea preparation approaches originating in Fujian and the Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong.
Friday Drop-In Pickleball @ Manzano Mesa.
Friday Drop-In Pickleball @ Manzano Mesa.
Please at least be versed in the basic rules, if you are a beginner that has never played. Meet at the champion court, by the bathrooms. Even though it's drop in when you can, the earlier our members can get there, the better we have a chance of claiming more courts that are close to each other. **A Different Format - Please Read:** What does "drop-in" mean? When you RSVP to the event, you ain't gotta be there right at the start. Stop by whenever and leave when you're ready. I will be there for at least the minimum time posted. Do RSVP so I have an idea of how many to expect, and it's good for the meetup group to track participation. **Play Format:** I need yall's help to keep play fair and fluid for all members. If there are members waiting to be rotated in, the 2 players that just lost in the current game rotate out to wait in line. The first 2 players waiting in line then rotate in, and the players that just won the game stay on court but split up. Holler at me if you need clarification. **What to Expect:** Casual pickleball for all levels; total beginners welcome. This venue is outdoors; if the weather turns, the event may be canceled. Please watch the event page and check your email for updates. We use public courts, and it’s not unusual to wait for court space to become available. **What to Bring:** * Paddle * Balls * Weather appropriate clothing * Hydration * Non-marking court shoes **Important:** If for any reason you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP. Thanks!

Immersive Art in the Age of Spatial Intelligence: What ChatGPT Can't Do
Immersive Art in the Age of Spatial Intelligence: What ChatGPT Can't Do
(Shared time & place with Spatial Computing – Boxing Bear Brewing, Bridges on Tramway) ChatGPT can write poems, but it doesn’t understand the concept of space. It has no body, no physics, no real sense of how objects relate in 3D. That limitation is pushing AI into its next frontier: **world models**, systems trained on video, 3D scans, and spatial data that simulate physical environments and understand cause-and-effect. Why this matters for immersive artists: * AI that understands installations as environments * Tools that can reason about spatial composition * Real-time adaptive immersive spaces * Blending generative AI with embodied experience If immersive art creates experiences people move through, world-model AI aims to help machines *move through them too*. This will be an informal, conversation-style meetup, where we think out loud over beverages. No technical background required. Curiosity encouraged. āž”ļø Details & discussion prompts here: [World Models, Spatial Computing, and What ChatGPT Can't Do](https://www.meetup.com/spatial/events/313332448)

Have questions about changing or leaving your faith? You are not alone—and we are here to help. Recovering from Religion (RfR) exists to provide ongoing, personal support for individuals who are examining, changing, or choosing to let go of their religious beliefs. We are not here to deconvert anyone or tell you what to believe. We are here to offer understanding, support, and healing during what can often be a challenging and emotional transitional period. This kind of transition can bring a wide range of feelings and may have a ripple effect across many areas of life. RfR Support Group meetings are designed to be safe, anonymous spaces where you can openly share doubts, fears, and experiences—without judgment, proselytizing, or biased feedback. If you need someone to talk to before your meeting date, RfR offers both a hotline and an online chat for immediate support. Call (844) 368-2848 or visit www.recoveringfromreligion.org to chat online. There is no cost to attend our support groups. If you feel inspired to contribute, donations can be made at: www.recoveringfromreligion.org/donate Please note that RfR volunteers are peer supporters, not licensed therapists. If you feel you may benefit from professional mental health support, we encourage you to explore the Secular Therapy Project. This service connects you with thoroughly vetted therapists who provide only evidence-based, non-religious treatment—no rosaries, no faith healing. Fees, insurance, and sliding scale options vary by provider. Learn more at www.seculartherapy.org. Looking for reliable information but don’t know where to start? From Reaction to Truly Listening
Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations
From Reaction to Truly Listening Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations
On this April Fools try diving into the thing most people feel foolish doing, communicating with your heart. From Reaction to Real Listening Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations Have you ever said something in the heat of the moment and later wished you had responded differently? In relationships, anger, hurt, and fear can easily fool us into reacting in ways that don’t reflect what we truly want for the connection. Soft start at 6:00 pm for tea and casual connection Hard start at 6:30 pm Ends at 8:30 pm Communicating with real empathy can be a game changer in almost every area of life. It’s a powerful tool for therapists, doctors, presenters, and anyone who works with—or simply wants to better understand—other people. It is especially valuable where relationships matter most: marriages, parenting, family relationships, friendships, and business collaborations. Since this gathering happens on April 1st, we’ll explore one of the biggest ā€œApril Foolsā€ moments in relationships: the times when our minds convince us to react before we pause, listen, and understand. In this group we practice the tools of Relationship Enhancement (RE) — a communication approach that helps develop empathy for both ourselves and others. Relationship Enhancement draws from practices such as reflective listening and Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and also integrates insights from working with children and families. These skills become powerful when we learn how to move beyond automatic reactions and into presence and real listening. When that happens, communication becomes more grounded, our nervous systems settle, and genuine understanding becomes possible. We offer yearly trainings and monthly practice groups where people can experience and practice these tools in a supportive environment. Join us on April 1st for an evening of curiosity, empathy, and meaningful conversation. Donations are welcome. RSVP by text: 505-991-0839
