Gung Fu Tea Experience 🍵
Gung Fu Tea Experience 🍵
Join us for Tea, in the style of a Chinese gung fu tea gathering Friday's at 5pm. Gongfu tea or kung fu tea (Chinese: 工夫茶 or 功夫茶; both gōngfū chá), literally "making tea with skill", is a traditional Chinese tea preparation method sometimes called a "tea ceremony". It is probably based on the tea preparation approaches originating in Fujian and the Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong.

Friday Drop-In Pickleball @ Manzano Mesa.
Friday Drop-In Pickleball @ Manzano Mesa.
Please at least be versed in the basic rules, if you are a beginner that has never played. Meet at the champion court, by the bathrooms. Even though it's drop in when you can, the earlier our members can get there, the better we have a chance of claiming more courts that are close to each other. **A Different Format - Please Read:** What does "drop-in" mean? When you RSVP to the event, you ain't gotta be there right at the start. Stop by whenever and leave when you're ready. I will be there for at least the minimum time posted. Do RSVP so I have an idea of how many to expect, and it's good for the meetup group to track participation. **Play Format:** I need yall's help to keep play fair and fluid for all members. If there are members waiting to be rotated in, the 2 players that just lost in the current game rotate out to wait in line. The first 2 players waiting in line then rotate in, and the players that just won the game stay on court but split up. Holler at me if you need clarification. **What to Expect:** Casual pickleball for all levels; total beginners welcome. This venue is outdoors; if the weather turns, the event may be canceled. Please watch the event page and check your email for updates. We use public courts, and it’s not unusual to wait for court space to become available. **What to Bring:** * Paddle * Balls * Weather appropriate clothing * Hydration * Non-marking court shoes **Important:** If for any reason you are unable to attend, please update your RSVP. Thanks!

Waking the Heart
Waking the Heart
The pathway towards awakening wends its way through the depths of our hearts. But our glimpses of the heart are fleeting. Join us to explore how to wake the heart and keep it open, through the powerful avenues of poetry, music, imagery, and text. *"If one learns to listen to the heart, it will tell one things so clearly—what must be done, what must not be done, the real nature of people, places, and things. Only it speaks so quietly, so subtly, and immediately a flood of reactions, explanations, excuses, theories have swamped it, and we do not even recognise it speak. Only listening carefully to what it wants to say, and remaining still until it has spoken, one cannot really do the wrong thing."* \~ Rodney Collin, from *The Theory of Conscious Harmony,* Chapter on *Heart* ***Jennie Hansen*** *is a professional musician and writer who has studied philosophy for 22 years and has been a Director of the Los Angeles Center of the Academy.* ***Banner Image:*** *Mary Magdalene* by He Qi (c.2012)

From Reaction to Truly Listening
Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations
From Reaction to Truly Listening Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations
On this April Fools try diving into the thing most people feel foolish doing, communicating with your heart. From Reaction to Real Listening Practicing Empathy in Real Conversations Have you ever said something in the heat of the moment and later wished you had responded differently? In relationships, anger, hurt, and fear can easily fool us into reacting in ways that don’t reflect what we truly want for the connection. Soft start at 6:00 pm for tea and casual connection Hard start at 6:30 pm Ends at 8:30 pm Communicating with real empathy can be a game changer in almost every area of life. It’s a powerful tool for therapists, doctors, presenters, and anyone who works with—or simply wants to better understand—other people. It is especially valuable where relationships matter most: marriages, parenting, family relationships, friendships, and business collaborations. Since this gathering happens on April 1st, we’ll explore one of the biggest “April Fools” moments in relationships: the times when our minds convince us to react before we pause, listen, and understand. In this group we practice the tools of Relationship Enhancement (RE) — a communication approach that helps develop empathy for both ourselves and others. Relationship Enhancement draws from practices such as reflective listening and Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and also integrates insights from working with children and families. These skills become powerful when we learn how to move beyond automatic reactions and into presence and real listening. When that happens, communication becomes more grounded, our nervous systems settle, and genuine understanding becomes possible. We offer yearly trainings and monthly practice groups where people can experience and practice these tools in a supportive environment. Join us on April 1st for an evening of curiosity, empathy, and meaningful conversation. Donations are welcome. RSVP by text: 505-991-0839

Steampunk Nerf Gun Workshop
Join us for a hands-on **Steampunk Nerf Gun Workshop** — where imagination meets modification! We'll provide basic tools and some shared materials. Due to space considerations there will be a 10 attendee limit. Please update your RSVP if you cannot attend so those on the wait list may attend.

Alma Serena Sacred Circle
You are warmly invited to join the Alma Serena Sacred Circle, a donation-based cohort beginning in March and rooted in ancestral wisdom, curanderismo, and the gentle rhythm of the seasons. This Sacred Circle is a living container for those who feel called to ignite passion in the heart while maintaining serenity in the soul. Together, we will gather in community, deepen our personal healing practices, and tend the medicine with reverence and care. As a collective, we commit to honoring the sacredness of the space through confidentiality, humility, accountability, and mutual respect. Each month begins with a Community Circle on the first Sunday, an open and accessible gathering for grounding, reflection, prayer, and collective connection. *"I enter this circle with awareness that healing requires safety, choice, and trust. I accept shared responsibility for maintaining a container rooted in humility, accountability, and care."*
