Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge w/ Rick @ 0845
**Please note this is the usual Sunday.**
Hi Everyone, time for the monthly visit to the Valle de Oro NWR! I have scheduled this every month on a Sunday morning. We will walk at an easy pace for about 4.0-4.5 miles total. We **do** go into the bosque and walk to the river, be aware that this portion is not a maintained trail.
NOTE: If the entrance gate happens to be closed, just parallel park in the pull off where the informational signs are.
**Great For first timers**.
It's going to be very warm, so drink lots of water.
**Please note start time of 0845.**
This is a great choice for new hikers; there are broad roads to walk on allowing plenty of opportunity to visit with each other and admire nature. We will take a group picture somewhere along the way.
Pets are allowed on refuge trails. Please keep all pets on a **6 foot non-retractable leash** and on designated trails at all times.
See the Link below for current information from the refuge.

Be considerate of others who may be on a waitlist, as well as the event host by updating your RSVP if you decide not to attend, even at the last minute.
As a reminder, ensure that you are are capable of walking this distance, bring sunscreen, hat, water and any other items you may desire. Walking poles are optional. If you are feeling ill, please do not attend.

6.9 mi distance
2683 ft gain
Pace: 2 to 2.5 miles per hour
This is a moderate to difficult hike because of the elevation gain.
Bring: At least 2 liters of water, sack lunch, layers, poles if you use them, an extra pair of shoes and plastic bag in case it's muddy. A traction device such as microspikes will be helpful for any lingering snow patches on uppermost portion.
Dogs: Please leash up at snack and lunch breaks.
Meet at Tin Can Alley, near Whataburger side of the parking lot, to carpool to trailhead. AWD is helpful for the Tunnel Springs trailhead. Passenger cars can park lower and walk an extra .25 mile. But hopefully we can carpool.
Watch comments for any inclement weather cancellations or modifications. **High winds means this event will be cancelled or postponed.**
Meeting at trailhead? Please comment.

Guest Astrologer Moses Siregar- Holistic Locational Astrology
**Albuquerque Astrology Group & NCGR NM Enchantment Chapter Presents: A special 5-hour Workshop on Locational Astrology taught by Moses Siregar**
Locational astrology, or astro-locality, has become a popular branch of astrology frequently used to help individuals find their ‘best places’ on Earth. The late Jim Lewis called his approach Astro\*Carto\*Graphy, or A\*C\*G. Charles Harvey and Michael Harding, in their book Working with Astrology, called A\*C\*G : one of the three most important modern advances in astrology – the other two being harmonics and midpoints.
In this exciting 5-Hour Intensive Workshop, Moses teaches us how the cutting edge of locational astrology thrives in the 21st century. Focusing on the most important principles of this practice, this workshop uses carefully chosen examples to explore how Holistic Locational Astrology works.
The first half of the workshop serves as an introduction to the fundamentals of Holistic Astrology that are used throughout this class, including his fusion and combination of western and Vedic methods. The second half specifically on the practice and methods of Holistic Locational Astrology.
*Moses comes to Albuquerque from Prescott, AZ, where he is one of the world's leading locational astrologers, integrating western and Vedic astrology along with his in-depth study of tens of thousands of relocated cases over nearly three decades in practice. He enjoys sharing the finer details and operation of his groundbreaking system: Holistic Locational Astrology (HLA). More about Moses Here: [https://www.astrologyforthesoul.com/](https://www.astrologyforthesoul.com/)*
**Cost for this event is $60 for members of Albuquerque**
**Astrology Group & NCGR, $75 for general public.**

UNM Golf Course
We’ll be doing the loop around the UNM Golf Course along the bosque. Some of you have done this one with me before. It’s about 1.8 miles with only around 85 feet of elevation, so it’s a nice easy walk.
This one is good if you just want to get outside, stretch your legs, and enjoy a relaxed walk with the group.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and come enjoy a couple easy miles together.
See you on the trail.
Full Moon Hike to Aluminum Yucca with Vegans!
Let's have an awesome adventure with vegans, a full moon flashlight hike from the Supper Rock neighborhood to the I-40 Aluminum Yucca and back. Please bring a flashlight. Let's try to leave the flashlights (and cell phones!) off as much as possible to let our eyes adjust to the light provided by the moon, but there may be parts where flashlights will be helpful.
This hike will only be about 2 miles round trip, mostly gentle rolling hills, but towards Aluminum Yucca there will be a short section with steep and slippery parts. Wear shoes with good traction.
The trailhead is just north of 218 Camino De La Sierra, for reference only. Please don't approach any houses. Park on the street on the section where there are no houses. The trailhead is in a residential neighborhood so please try to keep noise to a minimum until we leave the houses behind.
You might also consider our April Fools Day Vegos dinner with vegans before the hike at 6 pm.
Please respect all attendees of this ABQ vegan event by ensuring that any snacks or drinks that you bring for yourself are completely vegan.
